    Sensory

    Paint goes straight onto the table and children spread it with their hands, mixing colours as they go.

    A pen hangs from a string tied around the waist. Children lower it into a bottle without using their hands. It takes patience and a steady body.

What the nursery is like

Ardh Al Atfaal is in Falcon Tower, unit B1-208, in Al Rashidiya 2 — a short drive from City Centre Ajman. The classroom walls are painted by hand — numbers on one side, the alphabet on another — and the floor is covered in foam mats for circle time and movement games.

Most of the day happens at small tables and on the mats: sorting colours, tracing letters in sand, sticking paper squares onto shapes, and the occasional science experiment that everyone crowds around.

The team plans together and works as one group, with a separate support department for children who need something different from the main routine.

Is it right for my child’s age?

Children of different ages share the nursery, from the youngest at the sensory tables to those practising pencil control before school.

The nursery describes its approach as Montessori-based: children work with real materials at their own table, practise one skill at a time — a pencil grip, pouring, matching — and repeat it until it is theirs.

We keep this description to what you can see in the classroom. Ask the team on your visit how they plan each week.

Special needs support

Ardh Al Atfaal has a special needs support department alongside the main nursery. Its starting point, in the team’s own words, is understanding the child first, and making the activity fit the child rather than the other way round.

If your child has additional needs, you can talk to us privately before you visit. You do not need to share details in your first message.

    Come and see the classrooms while the children are in. Meet the team and ask anything.
